Lego Bionicle Bohrok Gahlok (BLUE) #8562 Review

This review will be the same for every Bohrok. All six of them are alike, but different in their own unique ways. Each one comes with a randomly packed Krana (unlike the Toa which came with a set Kanohi.) The design is cool because you can roll them into a ball and hang them from the top of the pods that they come in. Each one also has a headbutting action. By pushing a lever in back, their heads will snap forward pretty quickly. Also, by hitting the Bohrok in the eyes, you will cause the "Krana pan" to shoot forward, releasing the Krana.

Going back to the Krana, they are little pieces of rubber molded into 8 different forms. You just put the Krana in the pan and lock the top of the head, securing them. Also, for fun, the Krana can be put on the Toa's heads, and they fit perfectly. (But are smaller than Kanohi.)

Lego Bionicle Bohrok Gahlok (BLUE) #8562 Specifications

The Bohrok, a race consisting of six insectlike species that use elemental powers, add to the mythological story of the Bionicles. The Gahlok are the Water Bohrok, who can draw water from a source and then redirect it at a chosen target. These slippery critters never give away their strategy, keep their enemies on their toes, and never attack the same place twice. This 40-piece Bionicle kit uses a system of ball-and-socket joints, pegs, gears, and machinelike body parts for assembly. The illustrated instructions are easy to follow, and the black and blue pieces snap together without difficulty. A lever just behind the back of the head can be pressed to make the top dome lunge forward--a simple but incredibly cool effect. The completed Gahlok stands solidly on its own, offers a variety of offensive or defensive poses, and can be suspended in its container when not in battle. --Pam Lauer
