Highly detailed 1/32 scale assembly model kit of the McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) F/A-18 Hornet, a multi-mission all-weather day-night attack fighter. F/A-18 was originally developed in the 1970s by McDonnell Douglas as a carrier-capable multi-role fighter for service with the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The primary missions of the F/A-18 are fighter escort, fleet air defense, suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD), interdiction, close air support and reconnaissance. With continuous development and upgrades, the F/A-18 has evolved into a formidable air-superiority and fleet-defense fighter with versatile attack capabilities. Since September 22, 2006, the F/A-18 E and F variants have replaced the legendary F-14 Tomcat as the primary fleet-defense fighter for the U.S. Navy. This super detailed 1/32 scale model kit depicts the earlier F/A-18C single-seat attack fighter variant, and the kit features: accurately reproduced exterior with fully engraved panel lines & details. Open or closed canopy, Radom & airbrake. Folding wings. Four life-like figures (two pilots & two ground crew). Die cast metal landing gear struts. Various weapons and accessories (Sidewinders, Sparrows, 500lb bombs, FLIR, SLAM, Paveway, JDAM, AMRAAM, Snakeyes, HARM, Mavericks, TINS, external fuel tanks). Solid-synthetic rubber tires. Decals for 3 different aircrafts.
